I. Product Overview

1.1 Overview

Since the Industrial Revolution, human activities have led to a dramatic increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, if not the most abundant gas among them, is the most problematic of these gases. In fact, its concentration is so high that its contribution accounts for two-thirds of the total contribution of warming gases.

In order to alleviate the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere, the focus is on controlling the flue gas at the outlet of power plants. In fact, 75% of the substantial increase in atmospheric CO2 over the past few decades is attributable to the burning of fossil fuels for electricity generation.

Industry has responded to help reduce CO2 emissions, and currently the most advanced method of capturing CO2 from flue gases is absorption towers using amine absorbers. But this method has disadvantages, and in this context, research is conducted to develop new CO2 capture methods.

1.2 Features

In the equipment, the chemical absorption of CO2 by sodium hydroxide solution is used to analyze the CO2 content in the gas absorption columns to compare their efficiency in capturing CO2 from the flue gas.
